D Day Beacon Bonfire

Thursday 6 June – Lighting of the D Day 80 Bonfire Beacon

6 June 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day and will see several events hosted throughout the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories. Councils and communities have been invited to celebrate the D-Day anniversary by lighting a Beacon to bring people together.

Lezant Parish Council is organising a Beacon Bonfire on the evening of 6 June – please gather at 21:30. The bonfire beacon will be situated on one of the highest points in the parish on Cllr Burden’s land (on the road from Trebullett heading to South Petherwin) – there will be signs in place on the day.
